Karina + Daniel | The Ashes Barn Wedding Venue

Wedding Fayre Rules

Wedding Fayres are a great place to meet potential clients and have relaxed face to face conversations about their wedding plans. The one rule which we always go by is do not pack up first..!! Never has this been more true than of Karina and Daniel.

We first met Karina and Daniel at The Etihad Stadium where we were exhibiting at a County Brides wedding fayre. It was 4.10pm (the wedding fayre finished at 4.00pm) and most around us were already well on the way to packing up. We had images scrolling on a large monitor when Karina recognised their wedding venue. We ended up having a lovely conversation about The Ashes Barns and the rest is history.

The Ashes Barns Wedding Venue

As barn wedding venues go, you can’t get more picturesque than The Ashes Barns. A private, family-run wedding venue in a gorgeous fifty acre estate, at the foothills of the Peak District National Park, within the borders of Staffordshire in the West Midlands.

The venues website describes the surroundings as ‘The idyllic pond and lustrous lake, apple orchard and bramble hedges to wilder things…wheat fields, bubbling brooks and starlit vistas, you’ll be overwhelmed by the variety of magical backdrops for your wedding photographs.’

We have shot at this venue a number of times and find the barn buildings and grounds to be one of the best places to shoot a wedding at. The scenery and backdrops are simply stunning and give almost unlimited options no matter what the weather.

Wedding Photography

Karina and Daniel met as they both use to compete at Table Tennis to a very high level. Daniel in fact competed for Great Britain at the 2014 Commonwealth Games winning a bronze and silver medal. Of our meeting and services they said;

We met Andy and Julie at a wedding fayre at the Ethiad Stadium (just before it finished). We immediately liked their photography style so we decided to meet them at a later date. We thought they were brilliant and were people that would make our day even more memorable. They were fantastic on the day and the photos are stunning! We highly recommended them.

Wedding Photographs

Because of the COVID restrictions they unfortunately could not have the large wedding they so wished for and sadly, most of Karina’s family could not get the necessary time off work to be able to travel and quarantine for the big day. Despite this the smaller, more intimate wedding was a very relaxed, chilled affair. They described it as brilliant, emotional, crazy and unforgettable which we would completely agree with.
